Train In The Comfort Of Your Own Home With Pilates Exercise Videos
First of all what you may not know about Pilates is that they have been invented by a German national - Joseph Pilates, that had a very interesting life. During his early childhood he had been diagnostic with rheumatism and asthma, and he had a rather peculiar health condition. Yet, throughout his lifetime, he developed a new way of exercising and improved his health condition by more than 100 percent ending up living a healthy life. Later, this way of training had taken his name - Pilates. Another interesting trivia is that Pilates used for the first machines used with his exercising plans nothing else than bedsprings. Since he moved to the United States and opened his own Fitness Studio (Pilates Studio), the business (and the name itself) went uphill and ever gained lots of popularity. In addition, the great part is that today there are many Pilates video that teach you how to work out in your home, rather than going to the studio. First of all, one of the main advantages of Pilates videos is that they are very adaptable. If you have somewhere a DVD player and a TV set, or simply a computer that has a DVD-Reader, then everything is solved, you can simply gather up with some friends and start exercising whenever you all have the chance or you can do it alone. For those people who do not like crowded gyms, or simply do not like exercising along with strangers, these Pilates videos are a great way to keep in shape in your own home. Yet, there are also disadvantages to performing Pilates based strictly on videos. The lack on an actual performer and instructor may sometimes be the problem because the instructor is the only one that can advise you regarding several movements and so on, and the instructions that come with the DVD will never be even by far any similar to those given by a certified Pilates instructor. Remember that with every new sport and exercise technique you want to take, it is imperious that you talk with a real instructor about what suits you better and answer all your questions, but also informs you about any possible injuries and how to prevent them, because no DVD will do that. In other words, if you do want to perform Pilates in the comfort of your own home, you should first consult with a certified instructor, or simply take several gym classes - they do not have to be many, just enough to inform you on the basic things, and let you know the main procedure. After this you can go ahead and do it in your own home with no problem at all. There is another great thing about Pilates and that is that during your performing time you will learn the procedures as you are going through them, and in the end you will not need to strain your neck anymore to look at the TV while performing them and at some point you would have simply memorized the techniques. In this case you can start performing them on your favorite music and so on. Yet, remember that if you have any questions regarding if the procedure is indeed how you remember it, you should at all times check with the video to prevent any unwanted injuries. |
